Castles in Spain
Spain occupies most of the Iberian peninsula, it also is a part of the Baleares Islands and the Canary Islands. There are also some parts of the northern part of the African continent such as Chafarinas Islands, Peñon de Vélez de la Gomera and the Peñón de Alhucemas. In this country there are so many things that people want to see especially because it has so much history and so many castles that tourists are eager to discover.

It is no coincidence that there is a city called “Castilla” in Spain, meaning Castle. It is with knowledge named like this due to the number of castles that are located in Spain. Many castles were built to defend themselves from the muslims and vice versa. This point in time turned out to be the civil war bringing in the trend to build castles. “Castilla” is one of the places were there are more castles located in all of Spain.

The city of Cádiz has the Berroquejo, del Espíritu Santo, de Gigonza, de Melgarejo, Santa Catalina, San Sebastían, de Sancti Petroi, de San Romuldo casteles; in Córdoba there are the Almodóvar del Río, de Belmez, de Espejo, de Zuheros castles. These are only some of the castles that are located in the Spanish region.

Spain is a country with too much history, too many castles that need to be heard and seen. It is with all of these assets that it lures tourists to know and understand the Spanish country especially with so many kings and queens that have sat in the throne. It truly is a one of a kind country.
