Deltebre: A town covered by the waters of Ebro
Deltebre is located near the end of the Ebro River in Spain. Deltebre is in the Tarragona province and in the Autonomous Community of Cataluña.

This small town of 107.4 kilometres squared where 11,000 people live was founded in 1981 after the old counties of Jesús María y La Cava (which were previously part of the Tortosa county) combined into one. The origins of the founders of this land were probably the “moriscos.”In the middle of the 18th century the Delta zone near the Ebro river forced people to become nomads who later grouped together with other groups due to the construction of the San Miguel de la Cava church.
The citizens of Deltebre are proud to have the Delta del Ebro as part of where they live. Which is why they have devloped this tourist attraction to the best of it´s potential. It´s perfect location, smack in the middle of the Natural Delta del Ebro Park which makes it a nice walk that starts inside the Ecomusuem. This helps tourists understand about the wildlife in the Delta. In the Delta county there are three important things that every tourist must see: the Fangar point which has been formed by a port and the beach, the Canal Viejo Lagoon and the Garruchal which has been formed by small islands.

The Deltebre coast has a lot fun things that families are able to do. Ruimar is a beautiful long beach were a lot of German tourists like to lounge in. In these beaches people are able to rent villas which helps families enjoy their stay and feel at home. One of the things which Deltebre is known for are their rice paddies. They are interesting to see and good to eat.
