Salamanca although it has great things to see in the downtown area it also has beautiful natural beauty that is worth seeing. Which is why a visit to the “Sierra de Francia” is very important especially with it´s 1700 metres in natural views.

Also, at the very top of the mountain there is the “marian sanctaury” which is the tallest there is in the whole world. After looking at this spectacular monument you can walk down and look at beautiful valleys. At the very base of the valley there are cute and quaint towns that are worth discovering. Originally these towns used to be extremely important due to their location and now have become not forgotten but have become tourist stops due to their antique feel. Among these towns is one called “Las Batuecas,” this is also a part of the National Hunting Reserve.” It is surrounded by different animals and vegetation.

Around that same area there is the ”San José del Monte Monastery.” This is still in use and “barefoot carmelites” still live there. This monastery always has it´s doors open to tourists that want to see and look at their home. They also ask for a donation in order for them to suffice their hunger and needs. There are also other towns worth looking into such as Sequeros, Mogarraz and Miranda del Castañar. You cannot miss any of Salamanca´s trips.
