Festivities in Valencia
One of most important and religous festivities in Valencia are the “Fallas of San José.” People in Valencia are known to be fun and they are also known not to be cheap when it comes to special holidays. This is one of the few small towns that are able to prepare for a whole year for one single festivity. They sometimes take a whole year to build a monument they will set on fire.

For four days and four nights there are huge cardboard monuments in the streets and plazas. They are all made artistically some making fun of political things others portraying things in San José, all the while waiting to be burned. This is the way that the people in Valencia say “Hello” to spring, with explosions and fire.

Not only is there explosion and fire but there are other things that entertain everyone such as parades all throughout the city, women dressed in attire that is customary there. There are also fairs that you can find to have exquisite plates that you can have for lunch or dinner. There is always something to do for the whole family. Not only is it fun for adults but for children as well. If you are in Valencia you will find the Fallas of San José one of the most intresting and fun holidays to witness.
