Paella, a Spanish tradition
The food in Spain has been constantly changing having different things happen to it during the years. It all depended on who was living in the spanish country. For example when Arabs lived there they brought oranges and olive trees. The Moors influenced the dishes that were seasoned with cumin. Every soup had cumin and herbs to season and give it a very good taste.
Paella is a famous dish that has been around for many years and tourists as well as locals love to eat this dish. It started in Valencia with the people that had no money. This was originally done with beans, vegetables grown from a garden and rabbit meat. Since people had no money they would hunt rabbits and add it to the dish. Paella has clearly evolutionized since those days and today in small remote towns you might be able to find the original paella.
Today, paella is a more formal dish that can be modernized with new ingredients. Chefs, today have tried to change the recipes to suit the palates of many people from around the world. You might find crab, lobster, calamari, octopus, chicken, meat, shrimp and some tomato, onions and sometimes even corn. Take note that when you are looking for a place to eat paella the place that has more spanish locals is the place to eat it. Follow them around and see what restaurant they choose especially so you can eat the most tasteful paella.
Almost every paella is accompanied with a nice big piece of olive oil bread and some good wine to go with it.
