Spain, tradition and culture
Spain is a country that is full of history and culture. It was been lived by romans, arabs and celtics as well as other cultures that have left their imprint on the Spanish country.
From the northern part of Spain to it´s southern point there has been a lot of influences from neighboring countries but it has also been a type of bridge between the european country and the african culture.
Today Spain is known for it´s flamenco flair, it´s bulls, culinary art, literature, paintings and architecture.
Flamenco is known as a type of dancing typically associated with the typical music in the souther part of Spain. This music is made by guitars, clapping, very expressive words, long colorful dresses for the women and somber dark colored tight suits for the men. Flamenco originated from the gypsy communities and it´s music has been influenced by the arabs and jews.
Another thing that many Spanish people love is it´s wine. There is Rioja, Jerez and Ribero del Duero among others.
The Spanish menu consists of a meditarranean diet that is very healthy based on that area. Due to being a country that produces fruits, vegetables, meat and fish it´s dishes are based on these ingredients therefore becoming very healthy and nutritous. For example, paella, fish plates, shrimp, potatoes, and onion tortilla as well as serrano ham.
Art is also a very important part of spanish history because there have been some very famous artists that have originated from there like Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró and Goya.
Gaudí is also a famous architect that has done a lot of work in the city of Barcelona. Gaudí´s works of art bring a twist of modern into his work. In literature there have been famous authors such as Cervantes who wrote El Quijote a famous novel.
