Bullfighting is very important in the european country of Spain because it is something that has become tradition. There are special places were the bulls are taken care of so that they grow up to be different for different bullfights. In bullfighting the more aggressive the bull is the harder it is to kill the bull. Murcia and Cantabria are two of the places were bull fighting still takes place and is still very important. People are able to stay in Murcia and Cantabria hotels finding cheap flights.

In a bull fight there will usually be three toreros and six bulls. Each torero (spanish most of the time) will have two bulls who they will need to bull fight. They will each fight one bull in the first round and then follow the second round with another bull each.

A bull fight begins when the “paseíllo” opens up and everyone who is going to be a part of the bullfight parades in the pen. The alguaclillos are on their horses and they look for a special key that will open the bulls door. After them the three toreros enter along with their members of the cuadrilla who are the “bandilleros” and “picadores.” At the very end the “mozos” and “mulas de arrastre” go in. The people that parade at the end are the ones that clean up and pick up the bull with the help of some horses.

When the door opens and the bulls enter the plaza the crowd goes wild with anticipation. There is when the tradition of bull fighting officially begins. There are three parts to a bull fight.

In the first part the “picadores” hear a noise and that is their cue to go into the plaza. Second there should be three pairs of “banderillas” on the bull that will make him bleed. Last of all the toreros will try to kill the bull with a sword that will pierce the bull´s heart. This is why they say bull fighting is an art, because the torero must know when and where exactly he must pierce the animal´s heart.

If this is something that might no be very appealing to you it is very understandable. Many people do not want to see when an animal gets killed. But, if you are willing to go to a bull fight you will be a witness to one of Spain´s most traditonal acitivities.

There are only two spanish cities that are lucky enough to have the title “Best European Musem Of The Year.” Which makes the city of Bilbao a lucky one especially because it has the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum. This museum is characterized with one of the best architectures that is thought to be deconstructed, it is due to it´s fragmentations and non-linear design that this name is given. It is a part of the Salomon R. Guggenheim fund that was created in the year 1937 in order to promote modern art. This big, beautiful and very unique museum is located in the city of Bilbao which is a part of the Vizcaya province of Spain. It was opened in 1997 which a goal in mind, making art easier to bring to the public in order to increase it´s appreciation. This in mind especially after in the 1980´s there was a industrial crisis. Therefore this museum brought many tourists from around the world and within Spain to see this museum. Today this museum is a very big part of the city´s architecture. The architecture of this masterpiece is the american architect named Frank Gehr.

The Bilbao Guggenheim Museum has expositions that change constantly. There are many masterpieces that are given more attention because of their importance. Even though this is a museum that was built to promote modern art, during these last few years there have been some other works of art that are not a part of the modern art branch. Therefore there are Michelangelo works of art such as The Ermitage and also some works of art from Durero. There are some permanent collection that are a part of the Salomón R. Guggenheim foundation and some from the New York and Venice Guggenheim collections, as well.

Not only does Bilbao have this extraordinary museum to see but also other musems, theatres, palaces, churches and bridges that are worth taking a look especially if you are in Bilbao, Spain.

Since the Canary Islands got together with the “Corona de Castilla” it´s magnificent port has become an expansion into the Atlantic Ocean. Since the beginning of time when colonizing started in the american continent, “Las Palmas de Gran Canaria” were the base of many ships that sailed to the new world. Three of the four trips that Christopher Columbus made to the new world started or were related in a way to the Canary Islands. Today, the House of Christopher Columbus is a great museum and there are many things to see especially with the importance the Canary islands has in the colonization of America.

Christopher Columbus´ house is a place to visit if you are ever in the area. It is in the heart of Vegueta, where the governor used to walk. The first floor is complete with information about the discovery of the new world. There are great things to see and beautiful ways to learn. Wonderful reproductions of the ships that were used to travel by Christopher Columbus. There are several pre-colombian paintings that are wondeful to look at. There is also an underground tunnel that is connected to the Canary Cathedral. The second floor has all the information about the history of the city throughout the years.

In this museum you are able to learn about what happened in this city throughout the years and how it affected sailors from all around the world. There are also some beautiful paintings that the Prado Museum has left in this house so people can see how exquisite they are. It is definitely a place to go.

The last time we were talking about two very important museums in Madrid that are exclusive in art. They are great museums to visit if you are looking for wonderful and unique pieces of art. Today we will talk about some other famous and important museums in Madrid such as the National Arquelogical Museums which is in Serrano Street. This museum has a lot of things that are based in the Spanish pre history of the XIX century.

There are impressive statues such as the “Dama de Elche” which is a statue that was done around 5 centuries before time began to count. Can you imagine how old it is? If we keep on going through this enormous museum we are able to see 4 leading ladies named “Dama de Baza”, “Dama de Galera”, “Dama de Ibiza”, and “La Gran Dama Oferente.” The first one named was located more than three decades ago in the old necropolis of Baza, Granada. Like “La Dama de Elche” it is an anitque statue, only this one is at least one century older than “La Dama de Elche.”

On the other hand “Dama de Galera” which also comes from Granada, from the Tutugi necropolis is algo a ver antique piece. This is an alabaster work of art and it is said that leading lady represents the Mesopotamian goddess of Astarté. “La Dama de Ibiza” is at least one century older than the others. It was found in the Puig des Molins necropolis in one of the Baleares islands. She represents the goddess Tanit. And last but not least is the “La Gran Dama Oferente,” who is older than Christ.

Another one of the important pieces to see is “Bicha de Balazote” which is very old as well since it dates to around the VI century before time. The Osuna Bull is another statue that is around since the V century before Christ. It really is important that you know al this especially if you plan to go to Madrid and visit every single museum there is.

There are too many museums to talk about when we think about the Spanish capital of Madrid. Which is why it is impossible to list them all in one single post. We will be talking about these thrughout the day so that you can completely understand the importance of being in Madrid and actually seeing all the things that there are to see.

True to what we are talking about the Global Tourism Organization is located in this cosmopolitan city. Maybe one of the reasons that Madrid has the best and most important museums is because it has so much history to look at. It also has one of the biggest and most important art galleries there exist. Which is why so many people visit Madrid, in order to see the great art masterpieces that exist there. At least six million people go and tour around Madrid.

One of the most famous museums is the Prado Museum which is considered to be one of the best museums in the world due to it´s richness in the art collections it has. Especially because it has so many paintings from the Golden century in Spain, Flamenco Art and the Italian Renaissance. For example (we will name the paintings in spanish) “La Vendimia”, “La familia de Carlos IV”, y las “Majas” de Goya, “Las Meninas”, “La rendición de Breda”, y el “Retrato de Felipe IV” de Velásquez, “Las tres gracias” de Rubens, “La Anunciación” of Fra Angelico, el “Autorretrato” y “Adán y Eva” of Alberto Durero, “El caballero de la mano en el pecho” of Greco, “La Inmaculada concepción” of Murillo, “Agnus Dei” de Zurabrán,” La Sagrada Familia del cordero” and “Retrato de cardenal” of Rafael, “Cristo entre los doctores” and “Moisés salvado de las aguas del Nilo” de Veronese, “Santa Cecilia” y “Paisaje con tres hombres” of Nicolas Possuin, “La reina Artemisa” of Rembrandt, “El Lavatorio” y “Seis escenas del Antiguo Testamento” de Tintoretto, “El Carro de Heno” or “El Jardín de Las Delicias” of El Bosco, “Carlos V en Mulberg” de Tiziano, or “Descendimiento” de Van der Weyden, which are some of the most famous ones that are located in this beautiful and enormous museum.

Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso have a very special place in the Spanish people and there paintings are in the spanish museums such as the Queen Sofia National Art Museum. This other museum also special with so many other great painters works of art that are worth taking a look.
